A Letter to Moveon.org
Dear MoveOn,
While your efforts may be, and with good intention, biased in the right direction, I need less emotional and more informative and objective communications that show me that the little fires we’re constantly addressing are working towards a larger goal. To this day I am not clear what actual vision moveon.org has. And the constant emails are emotionally draining, exhausting …
An example of what I mean with vision (what are we working towards?) is http://www.thevenusproject.com founded by Jacque Fresco. He clearly addresses humanity’s and our society’s shortcomings which, in my opinion, `must` be addressed from the inside out (originate our efforts from a place of clarity and inner peace —) and rationally.
We need to start with the question “what kind of world do I want to live in?” and then figure out ways to get there and then take the necessary steps, one step at a time. A starting point would need to be for humanity as a whole to build a consensus of values which are specific enough to require for example an appreciation of all life, sustainable use of natural resources and technology and production, responsible decision making in terms of having children … and be general enough to leave room and show respect for our natural diversity including our various cultures.
This is the type of discussion I’d want to be a part of.
All of us play a part in great dance of this universe hence I wish you well,
Warm Regards,
Detlev Obst
